Kiki Delivery’s Service
The Brazilian edition of Kiki’s Delivery Service, illustrated by Daniel Kondo and published by Estação Liberdade.
A graphic interpretation of Eiko Kadono’s classic.
Created for the Brazilian edition of Kiki’s Delivery Service by Eiko Kadono, this project explores movement, synthesis and visual rhythm through a graphic language inspired by vintage Japanese matchboxes, early offset printing and imperfect color overlays.
The illustrations were built around reduction, balance and spatial rhythm, allowing shape and silence to guide the reading experience as much as the text itself.
Rather than approaching the book through nostalgia or decorative references, the project sought a visual structure capable of translating flight, wind and displacement into page rhythm and color relationships.
